San Lorenzo
About
San Lorenzo’s family history runs as rich and deep as his beautiful wines. Over 120 years of experience in the wine business and fifth generation of successful wine making.
The year was 1890 when Mr. Giuseppe D’Amico, great-grandfather of Gianluca and Fabrizio (the current 5th generation of wine producers), back from Pennsylvania, where he made a big fortune working in Pittsburgh coal-mining area, decided to establish a wine estate on the beautiful hills of Teramo province.
The fifth generation winemakers, Gianluca and Fabrizio, believe their role is to maximize and protect the natural fruit flavors that Abruzzo region so reliably provides.
When people ask to Gianluca e Fabrizio what it is like to be a fifth generation vinte, they answer that one does not become a winemaker by chance; one does not become a winemaker in order to follow the latest trend. They learnt their trade from the family, listening to their grandfather’s stories, and waiting with enthusiastic trepidation for the magical moment of the harvest that transforms the long year’s work in the fields into their produce.
